Marien Statue in Cathedral Square
The restoration of the foundation for the protective glass housing for the Marien Statue, which was recently fully restored, had to be carried out under very explicit instructions and criteria detailed in the regulations governing all restoration work on historic landmarks in the Old City. The static measurements determined after extensive analysis of potential winds from our frequent alpine storms had to be followed exactly. The glass canopy was affixed to the foundation with friction-locked bolts.
